For once few words in english so that my new girl friends will be able to know how happy i am after those few days spent with them in the Alps.
2016 is all about bucket list and Lana was part of it. I wrote her January 1st to tell her how much i appreciate the work she is doing on women riding motorcycles and how much i would like to ride west coast with her team. « Maybe if you come to Europe one day we would meet« . Spring is the time when projects bloom, and here i am, reading about the Wild Ones Alps tour Lana has setted up. OMG, so it is true, if you think hard about one thing it happens ?
With or without my bike, with or without my broken wrist, i knew i would be in the Alps meeting the girls. It’s my playground, i couldn’t miss it. Fortunatly, with my doctor (almost) approval and the good work of my physiotherapist i rode there with Bobby, my bike who was kindly waiting for me.
Highway through rain, pass through snow, it begun like the summer we didn’t have yet. Then it was all about sun, heat and marvelous places. I met the girls in Bern, Switzerland. We had perfect times on and off the bikes. 4 of them are part of the Wild Ones Alps team : Lana, Liz, Becky and Adri. 4 women traveling from the US west coast to ride 1 month in the Alps. They had already rode 2000 km when i met them. In 1 week! Then i met Micha, Lisa and Sandy, from Vienna and Zurich. More awesome women who ride. There are everywhere! Juampi and Chris were the only lucky boys to follow us everywhere with their cameras. I can’t wait to see images of those great days.
We’ve seen Interlaken between the 2 lakes (duh), Zermat and its car free little village, Grindelwald and its magical landscape. I made the big tour to avoid the tunnel into the mountain and i’m glad this phobia made me see Grimselpass (actually i didn’t see anything but thick fog), Valais vineyards and Sion valley. Headed back home via Lausanne, Grenoble and Morvan, cause you never want your bike holidays to stop.
Girls, we will meet and ride again whatever continent we’re on, i swear. #positivevisualisation
